What the item is: Hai Helper, a subscription app that helps me access, understand and keep track of the information in my NDIS plan. Cost: $14 a month or $120 a year.
The functional need it supports: My disability affects [for example: my memory, my ability to process and hold onto written information, my ability to keep track of tasks and dates, my communication]. This makes it hard for me to [for example: understand what is in my plan, keep track of my budget, remember what I have claimed, know what I can do next].
How the item helps: Hai Helper presents my plan information in plain, accessible language, tracks my budget in a way I can follow, and lets me ask questions about my own plan in a chat. It reduces the cognitive load of managing my supports so I can stay in control of my plan. It shows me what is in my plan. It does not make decisions for me, and it does not replace my coordinator or clinician.
Why it is value for money: At $120 a year it is low cost, sits well under the low cost AT threshold, and helps me manage my supports independently, which reduces how much help I need from others to understand my plan.
